About Velora
Care Built Around People, Not Procedures
We started Velora because we believed elderly care in Bangkok could feel warmer, more personal, and more like home. That belief still shapes every decision we make.
Back to HomeHow Velora Came to Be
Velora was founded in Bangkok in 2014 by a group of healthcare and hospitality professionals who had each, in their own way, gone through the experience of finding care for an ageing parent. They found the available options either cold and institutional or too informal to feel reliable. They decided to build something different.
From the beginning, the focus has been on creating genuine comfort — spaces that feel residential rather than clinical, and relationships between staff and residents that are built on time and familiarity rather than rotation schedules. The community opened with 18 residents and has grown gradually, always with care taken not to outpace the quality of attention we can offer.
Today, Velora is home to a small, close community of residents from Thailand and across the world, cared for by a team that takes genuine pride in the work they do every day.
Our Mission
To provide residential care that honours the individuality of each person who lives with us — supporting their needs, respecting their preferences, and ensuring their daily life holds moments of genuine enjoyment.
Our Values
- Dignity first. Every resident deserves to feel respected, valued, and heard.
- Patience over speed. We take the time each person needs, never rushing routines or conversations.
- Families as partners. A resident's family is always welcomed into the care process.
- Continuous learning. Our team regularly trains and improves, because good care is never static.

Standards of Care We Hold Ourselves To
Good intentions are only meaningful when they're backed by clear practice. Here is how we maintain quality across every aspect of life at Velora.
Individualised Care Plans
Each resident has a personal care plan developed in consultation with family and reviewed at least quarterly, adapting to changing needs over time.
Ongoing Staff Development
All caregivers complete training in geriatric care fundamentals, dementia awareness, safe mobility assistance, and first response before working with residents.
Safety & Emergency Protocols
24-hour staff presence, room call systems, fire safety systems, and written emergency procedures are maintained and regularly reviewed with the full team.
Nutrition & Dietary Care
Meals are freshly prepared daily with attention to individual dietary needs. Nutritionist input is available for residents with complex health conditions or specific dietary requirements.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Resident information is handled with discretion. Access to personal health records is limited to relevant care staff and shared with families only with appropriate consent.
Family Communication
Monthly updates, open visiting hours, and direct access to care coordinators ensure families are never left wondering how their loved one is doing.
Residential Elderly Care in Bangkok
Velora operates from a residential setting in the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok, one of the most accessible and well-served parts of the city. Our location allows residents to remain close to urban amenities while living within a calm, garden-facing community environment. Families based in Bangkok, as well as international families with relatives living in Thailand, find this location practical and reassuring.
The facility is designed for older adults at different stages of need — from those who are largely self-sufficient and simply prefer company and security, to those who require structured daily assistance or specialist memory support. Our three-tier living structure means that as a resident's circumstances change, their care can adjust without the disruption of changing facilities.
Working with both Thai nationals and an international community of residents, Velora has developed sensitivity to a wide range of cultural expectations, communication styles, and family dynamics. We approach every family's situation with patience, and we're always willing to take the time needed to answer questions and explain our approach in detail.
